Just Turn UpCome and join us for a small scale family event celebrating Diwali. With music and crafts and the sounds of Bollywood.
This afternoon of family activities, entertainment and craft celebrates Diwali, the vibrant 5-day “Festival of Lights”, the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and acknowledge over ignorance, which falls between mid-October and mid November.
In mid-afternoon the neighbouring festival venue inside Holy Cross also comes alive with dance and crafts from AKDC (Arts and Kuchipudi Dance Charity) from 2pm to 4pm. A great way to also start your family Diwali and Halloween celebrations.
This year Diwali begins on Sunday November 8th and celebrations include lighting divas (oil lamps) creating rangoli, fireworks, exchanging sweets/gifts and worshiping Laksmi the goddess of wealth.
